Why you should take the correct amount of nutritional supplements
Filed under Vitamins and SupplementsAug 19In nutritional supplements, the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) set by the FDA is a guideline of the minimum amounts needed of a nutrient to stay healthy, but in numerous cases consuming more may be right for you. You ought to consult your doctor before taking larger quantities but in many cases, additional quantities may be needed to meet your personal requirements. Some medications and medical conditions can impact the body's ability to absorb and utilize vitamins and minerals and your doctor, nutritionist or other health care provider can advise you what amounts are best for you.
Keep in mind that if you take the right amounts of herbal or other supplements, there is a huge benefit in better health, more energy and greater mental clarity. The problem occurs only when vitamins and minerals are consumed in huge quantities, well over the published RDA. Since many nutritional supplements can appear as if they are candy to a child, always store your supplements in a safe place, out of reach of little hands.

Effects of Nutritional Supplements in Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Filed under Vitamins and SupplementsAug 8Copyright 2006 INTEGRITY HEATH SOLUTIONS
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is characterized by inattention, impulsivity and, in many cases, hyperactivity. ADHD affects up to 7% school age children. Problems with focus, concentration and impulsivity affect all levels of both academic and interpersonal function. Secondary problems include low self-esteem, anxiety and problems related to impulsive, hyperactive behavior.
Psychostimulants have been well documented to improve attention span, but not without risk of adverse effects, including loss of appetite, headache, stomachache, and mood changes. There is a growing concern about what appears to be an increasing prescriptive use of controlled substances in children.

The health market is flooded with nutritional health supplements but do you think you really need a supplement? This article has given the real fact on whether you need a supplement or not?
After watching a promotional presentation of a recently launched nutrition supplement, I wondered how many normal persons would begin to take them and how many of those people really needed them. Not only I but many of my friends asked an expert on nutrition the same questions. The expert said that misguided information about supplements is leading more people who need less or no supplements to take them. For example, recently a body builder’s comment in a health program on TV informed the viewers that one does not get adequate proteins by eating food and therefore one requires supplements!

Probiotics are nutritional supplements that contain strains of beneficial bacteria. You might wonder why someone would actually introduce bacteria into their diet. Bacteria are living inside you at this moment, over 3 pounds of it just in your intestines. That probably makes you want to run to the doctor's office and grab a prescription for antibiotics. But before you do, you need to recognize that not every bacteria are the same. Everyone's body has the variety of good bacteria and bad bacteria living in it. The object is to have far more good bacteria than bad, as well as this is where Probiotics come into play. They boost the good bacteria and let it flourish and crowd out the illness-causing bad bacteria. As well as overgrowth of bad bacteria can bring about, or complicate many different diseases and also even in an otherwise healthy person could potentially cause diarrhea as well as abdominal pain. Medical doctors in European countries have long suggested probiotics to their patients, and also finally, many physicians in the united states are beginning to follow their lead.

Bad bacteria can enter the body in many different ways. It's within the food we eat. It's on the door handles that we touch the telephones that we answer. In short, bad bacteria are all over. It enters our body and also takes up residence within the big and small intestine, and also once there, it flourishes. It latches on to the intestinal tract wall as well as begins to impact digestive function. It results in inflammation of the intestinal tract lining and also begins to slow down the absorption of many nutrients and vitamins. It even starts to create poisonous substances, like alcohols as well as aldehydes. The least severe consequence of bad bacteria in the stomach is gas and bloating, mild abdominal pain, constipation, or diarrhea. But there are severe side effects as well. Overgrowth of bad bacteria is believed to contribute to a lot of the intestinal issues we experience, like Ibs, Chrones disease, and also Leaky Gut Syndrome. All in all, bad bacteria can be harmful for your body.

Nutritional health supplements can prevent cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer
Filed under Vitamins and SupplementsJul 30The human body, to function properly, requires a number of essential nutrients. Some of them are synthesized by the organism, but several are present in the food we consume daily. However, what we eat does not necessarily provide our daily Nutritional Supplements need.
To stay healthy, we need a variety of protein, vitamins, minerals, bioflavonoid, antioxidants and other natural supplements. Although our diet can provide many of those supplements, it is practically difficult to obtain all of them in a simple diet. Researchers have shown that deficiencies in vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients can cause disturbances in the body leading to the development of major diseases. Taking supplements is therefore an indispensable way to preserve your health and prevent disease.
If you are like some people who base their health on how they feel, you may say it’s not true. Because you feel in perfect fit now, it does not mean you are healthy. Certain illnesses make their ravage internally before present any visible signs. A single supplement or remedy can prevent a lifetime of pain or even save your life. I am not trying to scare you; I am telling what I experience in my own family. “Prevention is better than cure”

I have often been asked, "What supplements would you recommend that I take?"
To answer that question, I have written this article.
We have reviewed supplements from hundreds of manufacturers and have developed an opinion on what is best, what is the best value, and what would be a good selection for the typical person to take. While everyone is different, here is my opinion for a typical adult. I believe the same basics are needed by both men and women. Eating reasonably well and getting moderate exercise are important in addition to supplements. A pill is not going to solve your problems, but it may enhance your quality of life and longevity.
First, I recommend a robust multivitamin
